Please send any Ticket stubs and money for the Department Raffle to P.O. Box 3025 Macon, GA. 31205. The sooner we begin receiving them back the more accurate count we can get on the number of tickets sold and how many are left out. Remember Ticket Stubs and money sent to Headquarters should match up to $4 per stub. We recommend mailing stubs with a check in a padded envelope to prevent damage to the stubs. Thank you.

Happy March!!! The year is rolling on by— March is Membership Month !! If your post has not reached the 90% membership level, please do all you can to get unpaid members to renew their dues… Those posts that need 10 members or less, to reach 100%, need to scratch around and find a few new members, or some older members, and get them back into the post. Recruiting is an everyday event! Department of Georgia is still at the bottom of the National Organization membership roster…and WE can do better than this.
We have 10 Post Officers that theirs membership will expire this month—Please Don’t let that happen…
Also, as a reminder—March meetings opens nominations for Post Officers…Elections are held in April, with installation in May…
ALL-State criteria closes on 30 April—Please check our website to see where you stand!!!
Department Raffle is underway….send ticket stubs and money to HQ—if you have questions please call…
Thanks for all you do,
Michael J. O’Steen

Congratulations to Post Commander Dean Rakoskie and the membership of Post 10825 Statesboro on being the 13th Post in the Department to reach 100%. There are currently 18 Post within 10 members of making 100%. Who will be next?
It has recently came to light, contrary to known history, that Treutlen County GA. Lost a resident in Vietnam. A ceremony is being held by Post 10925 Soperton on March 11, 2017 at 2 PM for his family where the Post will be presenting the family with a flag. I am reaching out to all members of the Department of Georgia to find someone who may have served with this man or with the same unit or an attached unit. I feel it would be extremely honorable for a person of that status to present the flag versus myself as the Post Commander. The man is Petty Officer Third Class Walter Clements. He served with RIVDIV 51, TF 116, USNAVFORV. He died on March 13, 1967. If anyone served with this unit or attached to this unit please call me at Headquarters. If it is during the weekend please call my cell at (478) 247-6600. This is not a buddy finding mission or a reunion. This is trying to find someone to help honor this man and his family. Please pass it around our membership and anyone you may know. This was sent with permission from Department Commander William Sandberg.
